The Pendulum

March 10, 2017 By Παύλος Παύλου

The pendulum is the instrument, whose index reaches from the left end to the right end.

We all understand that this movement, from one end to the other end, is the natural flow that keeps the movement alive and assists the mechanical function. Without arriving at the extreme position, the restoration, the return and the continuation of the pendulum is not possible. The same applies to our personal behavior when we reach the extremes.

The extremes may be uncomfortable, but this is the only way to test the endurance, the only way for our thoughts and opinions to be manifested and judged so that we take our lesson.

From the examples of the Bible, we learn not only about the success of the people who lived in the extreme, but also about the condescending attitude of God towards human, extreme but honest behavior [Jacob’s fight, Peter on the waves]. There is one characteristic though; When they took their lesson, people returned to regularity.

Great successes, as a rule, come only through great trials, which do not overlook, but take into account the strengths of man with weaknesses, fear, doubt, and quest for something better.

Dusting

March 9, 2017 By Παύλος Παύλου

Regular dust removal is a common in every clean and modern household. We all want our home, our workplace, and our environment, to be clean not only for reasons of decency but also for our health. And the best way to keep it clean is to remove dust and surface pollutants often.

This way, not only do we live in a clean and healthy environment, but we protect our health and our possessions from wear and tear. If the surface dust is not removed in time, it solidifies, changes into dirt and its removal requires a larger and more difficult process.

The same applies to our inner world, our consciousness, where daily contact with the environment results in the deposition of various pollutants, various negative elements that are not of our choice and we would happily remove them.

And Christ, on account of Peter’s attitude and view, clarifies that the pure person does not need radical changes every day, but it is sufficient to dust the feet, that is, to remove the daily pollutants in order to preserve their internal purity and hence the function of their consciousness. This has the direct consequence that their decisions are stable and that their actions are effective.

Education

March 8, 2017 By Παύλος Παύλου

Education is the foundation of every developed society of people and the Greeks know very well, since ancient times, the role of education in every successful individual or social pursuit.

Through education, we acquire the most important things in life, much more in the 21st century, where without education simply one can not even overcome elementary everyday issues. So if education is necessary to be able to overcome for everyday issues, how much more necessary is education when it comes to serious issues, not just of everyday life but also of the future?

No one can overlook the need for people to look with responsibility into the Holy Letters so that they will not be the victim of irresponsible news and mentalities that deprive them of the joy and enjoyment of the fruits of his faith in Christ.

The life of faith in Christ has fruit and no one should deprive this free provision because of ignorance or misunderstanding.

Purity

March 7, 2017 By Παύλος Παύλου

In the Greek language, purity has retained the same importance over the centuries. Pure is someone who is clean, not polluted or dirty, and dirty is the one who has dirt, impurities which have not been eliminated.

The modern word detergent denotes the material we use daily to remove dirt, small and large, from our body and our environment.

And it is quite understandable that the same is true of the pollutants of the soul, the outbreaks of infections that have either already settled in our bodies and torture our everyday lives or cling to our lives and compose the morbid mental environment within in which we live inefficiently, tired and loaded.

In any case, we know that all pollutants do not require the same process to be removed, but there are easy and difficult pollutants and we use a different detergent accordingly. The same goes for our mental health where daily purity – an effort to remove old pollutants that are installed in our soul’s web and affect it daily – is a prerequisite. In all cases, Christ explained that the purity of the soul, the inner world, comes from the process of hearing His words.

Do You Know How to Read?

March 6, 2017 By Παύλος Παύλου

The ability of almost the entire population to know how t read and write is a fundametal feature of our time. And this feature did not always exist. In the older generations only a few people knew how to write and read.

It is also a conquest, not insignificant, which has great practical value in our daily lives, because it allows us not only to communicate through voice but also through the written word, which in many cases today is safer as a means of communication, since we have the ability at any time of our lives, to read – to listen in our perfectly personal inner world – things that no one else is involved with at that moment.

Thus, the written word becomes a voice that only the reader hears and no one else, and through the written word, messages can reach our consciousness, that can affect and transform our inner world first and then our practical life as a whole.

The reading of the Sacred Scriptures became a personal matter, the exchange of written messages became a daily routine, the man is called upon to make use of reading and writing to discover the world of faith, the new world with no borders either temporally or locally.
