Olympic Games

The dream and the vision of each athlete is to take part in the Olympic Games.

However, we all know that these games do not happen every day, but every four years. But we all know or at least suspect that athletes do not appear for the first time on the day of the Olympic Games, but every day they work really hard, there’s hard preparation and hard daily competition to get the highest point and claim a seat in the pantheon of the Olympic Games.

And this lesson is of great value to people of faith because if every athlete trains daily and competes with others to reach their high goal, to have world recognition, then it is even more important for my inner person to prepare and practice daily, since the inner person contributes not only in the quality improvement of everyday life, but also leads to high goals, beyond death.

The daily exercise and practice of my internal abilities is the first prerequisite for avoiding mistakes and omissions from which reluctance and indifference originate. On the contrary, daily exercise brings renewal to my interests, brings the sense of truth closer to my own reality and yields rich fruits for the general good of people.

The way to Ithaca

Traveling is always a charming experience. All healthy people want to travel. They want to know new places, and depend on their ability and interests, to know new people, new thoughts, and cultures that they did not know.

This travel experience that we all have is also a means of understanding the message Christ, and later the apostles, wanted to give, as they all traveled and rarely lived for long periods in the same city or region. In the journey of Christ through Samaria, emerged the encounter with the unknown Samaritans. Philip’s descent in the desert brought the meeting with the high-ranking Ethiopian financial officer. The journey of the apostle Paul through Athens provoked his appearance and his speech in the Arios Pagos (Supreme Court of Cassation).

And it is obvious that whenever a person moves, their horizons, their thoughts, and their tolerances move as well. They enrich themselves with experiences and so do the people who they encounter.


Spiritual renewal is often a function of our mental health and vice versa.

And the journey, the way to a destination we love and adore, is of great value. Indeed, when this destination is not only surrounded by a temporary value, then even the toil of traveling is forgotten because of the high value of the result.

The Hunter

The one who is chased, is not the hunter but the candidate prey. A hunter is the one who persecutes, seeks, pursues and attempts to reach their prey, to reach their goal. They may have an immediate need for the prey or simply practice the pursuit. In any case, the hunter gains experience, exercise, training and improving his / her abilities to achieve his / her goals.

The hunter sets their goals. The hunter identifies and detects their victim, depending on his or her own weapons and ability to use them.

And in any case, the hunter is not the one who has others to hunt his prey on his behalf, but he is the one who, on his own initiative, with his own capacity, with his own personal presence and energy, achieves his goal.

No one substitutes the hunter.

The prey that others bring, even if you have paid the cost of their mission, is not the result of your own capacity. You just bought but did not practice, you did not become better, and you did not get the experience to spot the goal, overcome obstacles, and improve your skills. Others, and not you, have become richer in experience and efficiency. You have been deprived of this experience of life and others have become rich.

Porosis

Porosis is a greek word, and one of its meanings is sclerosis. And when it comes to the heart, we all understand that the result of porosis is insensitivity, that is, there is no sense of reality. This, of course, is not visible to the naked eye, but is perceived through our behavior. An insensitive person is tough, makes tragic mistakes, and lives in another reality of his own, which is far from the truth.

Only the comparison with the truth can confirm the misbehavior of the insensitive. And modern people of the 21st century are called to be sensitive and not insensitive, we are called to be in and not out of the facts, to be active and not idle, we are called to do right and have the sensibility of a modern person and not the cruelness of a fanatic religious person, who has the religion as a cover for the inner hatred for people, the creation and the creator himself.

Porosis removes life and gradually leads to death. Sensitivity is produced and promoted by the daily renewal and testing of the presence of the living God in our everyday life and the problems we face.

Tolerance, Endurance and Guilt

All three of these words refer to a realistic rather than a theoretical state. I have tolerance in the actions of the other against me, I can endure insults and difficulties, but in any failure I have guilt because I did not achieve what I wanted.

I started well, but I failed, and my guilt spreads in my inner person, in my conscience, and brings frustration, brings regression and sadness.

And while I should have tolerance and resilience in healthy teaching so that every day my inner person grows up, and while I should be active and not idle, leveraging the power that I get from knowing my rights, in reality, I have surrendered unconditionally, and the only thing left in me is the feeling of failure, the guilt of inappropriateness, the guilt of losing something great, because I chose as my first priority insignificant things in my everyday life.

How long I endure, is apparent in my everyday life from my reactions. How strengthened is my inner person, is shown by the truths I say and by the lies I am not saying.

How much my faith in the living God is healthy and flourishing is proven by my good works that don’t concern only me, but also others who accept the beneficial presence of the resurrected and living God.
